You are always awareness, you have no choice. The ego cannot appear without the support of the underlying awareness, its own source.  

  Being here really is just the invitation to rest as Being. There is nothing you have to do. It is not an invitation to become. You will not be scrutinized, your actions compared with those of others. That's just unicorn food. Let your river flow as it pleases. Simply observe and recognize that all is unfolding spontaneously when that inner journalist, the ego, is exposed as a myth.  

  The Enquiry is not merely a pain-killer but a Mirror exposing the illusion of Egoity and 'Otherness', as the true cause of suffering. Compassion is the recognition of the unicity of manifestation.  

  But when this consciousness is strongly identified with personality and body, it is prone to many feelings of fear, suspicion, division, very divisive, and its love, which is also vital even for the ego, is often reduced to a very tribal expression, "those who are more like me". So it is not living in its full potential, its full capacity, for the love that is all encompassing, all inclusive love, because the ego itself is very divided.
